Spain leads all markets with Smartphone adoption

ComScore's 2010 Mobile Year in Review, a look at the top highlights in mobile across the U.S., EU5 (UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) and Japan. With the importance of mobile growing not only for mobile marketers, but digital marketers in general, the report delivers insights into the rapidly evolving mobile landscape.


Below are some of the highlights for Spain:
Spain leads all markets with Smartphone adoption of 38.0 percent, up 10.4 percentage points from last year. It surpassed Italy at the end of the year and is well above the rate of adoption in the U.S., which appears to be levelling out. It looks like the UK could quickly catch up to Spain in 2011.



Nokia is by far the most popular smart phone of choice in Europe and occupies 47% of the market share in Spain.


In Europe the fastest growing age segment in smartphone adoption was in 13-17 year olds and 18-24 year olds, up 66% and 54% respectively.
